Course overview:

The Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) is a theory and competency based training package.

This course is designed to demonstrate the stress exposures individuals may encounter in hostile environments with the training aimed to provide individuals with the required skills to perform effectively in a high risk environment.

The course is aimed towards organisations, groups, or individuals conducting business or travelling in difficult, hostile, or inaccessible places, which face daily hazards, many of which can be fatal.

These dangers can harm reputation, business, and, most significantly, personal security. We can also provide bespoke courses to fit our clients' specific requirements.

Topics covered include:

  • Competency in understanding country history and current threat levels
  • Competency in understanding pre-mission requirements such as travel planning
  • An understanding of cultural awareness
  • Competency in personal security and PPE
  • Understanding of vehicles, movements, and operations
  • Understanding of kidnap and hostage situations
  • Competency in IED / EFP awareness
  • Competency in casualty extraction
  • Competency in insider threats
  • Competency in TTPs

Prerequisites:

Candidates must be aged 21 or above.

Hold an in-date passport with a minimum of 6 months validity.

You must hold a valid in-date driving licence.

Must be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.

Must be of reasonable health and fitness due to the nature of the course.

Assessment:

Assessment is by way of a practical and multiple choice assessment, for IQA reasons some assessments may be filmed.

Certification:

At the end of the HEAT course you will receive a certificate as proof of attendance.

If attending the 4 day course, you will also receive a recognised Highfield level 3 EFAW certificate.

Course duration:

Our HEAT course runs over 3 days and our HEAT course including Emergency First Aid at Work runs over 4 days.

Prices will include food, accommodation, pick-up and drop off at Erbil International Airport.

Flights and Visas are the individual’s responsibility, but advice and recommendations can be provided.
